Eco-Research did a successful application to host the 46th International Dioxin Symposium DIOXIN2026 in Riva del Garda- Italy

The letter delivered to Director Werner Tirler on September 14, 2023, filled the entire staff and management with joy and pride: the International Advisory Board (IAB) of the International Symposia on Halogenated Persistent Organic Pollutants announced that Eco Research’s application to host the forty-sixth edition of the International Dioxin Symposium – Dioxin2026 had been accepted.”

Participation in the project “Arianna estate Bolzano 2023” of the association UPAD

Eco Research participated in the project “ARIANNA ESTATE BOLZANO”, an activity for children from 6 to 11 years old organised by UPAD Bolzano in summer 2023. In particular, on 27 July 2023, some Eco Research researchers carried out playful and informative activities with the children on the theme of using isotopic analysis for the traceability of quality food products.

In a workshop entitled ‘Discovering the Lost Origin’, the children learned what isotopes are and the importance of some of them in establishing the geographical origin of an agro-forestry product. They were then able to ‘put into practice’ what they had learned and try their hand at ‘research’ through two games to recognise the origin of apples, cereals, wood and grapes…

Isotope analysis for the traceability of regional products

Our latest publication about “ Geographic tracing of cereals from South Tyrol (Italy) and neighboring regions via 87Sr/86Sr isotope analysis ” is now available on Food Chemistry (OpenAccess).

Eco Research participated in Ecomondo 2022 as co-author of an oral contribution in the session ” Indoor air quality: sources of emissions, air changes, energy efficiency and the new control and monitoring technologies”, moderated by prof. Settimo of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità. Isotope analysis: an opportunity for the agroforestry chain and sustainable land management

For several years Eco Research, the Laimburg Research Center, and the Free University of Bolzano have been involved in research projects focused on the determination of the origin of agricultural products through the analysis of the stable isotopes of strontium (Sr) and the study of water cycles in the emerging scenarios affected by the climate change through the analysis of the stable isotopes of hydrogen (H) and oxygen (O). Capacity building 2014-2021

On May 5 the final event of the “Capacity Building 2014 – 2021” funding program of the Autonomous Province of Bozen – Bolzano was held at the NOI Techpark.  

Between 2014 and 2021, the Autonomous Province of Bozen – Bolzano invested 33 million euros for the construction of 16 new laboratories, distributed between the NOI Techpark and the headquarters of the various research institutions.
