Le Mille e una Scienza 2024

Eco Research took part also this year in the science dissemination festival ‘Le Mille e una Scienza (The Thousand and One Science), organised in Bolzano by TesLab (youth culture centre of the Association Arciragazzi Bolzano Bozen APS) and the science popularisation association Accatagliato, with the contribution of the Office for Youth Policies of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano in collaboration with the Office for Scientific Research of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. The festival, held from 7 to 17 November 2024 and aimed especially at children and young people, offered a journey into science and research with various initiatives and appointments held by researchers, lecturers and science popularizers…

Participation in the project “Arianna estate Bolzano” of the association UPAD Bolzano

Eco Research participated in the project “ARIANNA ESTATE BOLZANO“, an activity for children from 6 to 11 years old organised by UPAD Bolzano in summer 2024. In particular, on 9th August 2024, some Eco Research researchers carried out playful and informative activities with the children on the indoor air quality.

In a workshop entitled “The invisible challenge: let’s clean up the air”, the children learned how to identify the pollutants that can be found in the air they breathe inside buildings (including in their own homes and classrooms), their effects on their health and the main sources of release of these pollutants, see in action one of the scientific instruments used to measure the substances in the air around us, but also learn about those daily actions and new habits that can make a big difference in improving air quality and preserving a healthy living environment….

Participation in the project “Estate Ragazzi 2024” of the association Arciragazzi Bolzano APS

Eco Research participated in the project “ESTATE RAGAZZI 2024“, an activity for children from 3 to 14 years old organised by Arciragazzi Bozen APS in summer 2024. In particular, on 25th June 2024 and on 25th July 2023, some Eco Research researchers carried out playful and informative activities with the children from 6 to 11 years on the indoor air quality.

Educational Collaborations for “Tomorrow’s Technicians”

The 2023/24 school year also concluded with a fruitful collaboration between Eco Research and the schools of Bolzano, aimed at training the “technicians of tomorrow”.

In particular, within the collaboration agreement with the “Galileo Galilei” Institute of Secondary Education, two internships of 76 hours each were conducted, one in September and one in October, with fifth-year students of the chemistry and environmental biotechnology course on the theme “Indoor Air Quality Analysis and Evaluation”…

Scientific dissemination during the Trento Film Festival: At School with Nature

From 3 to 8 June 2024, the 72nd edition of the Trento Film Festival (a film festival dealing with mountain, exploration, mountaineering, mountain culture and the environment) took place, during which not only films, meetings and lectures on the theme of mountains were on offer, but also a series of activities dedicated to children and young people called T4Future – A school of nature. Some of the proposed events also took place in Bolzano…

Participation in the event “ReCYCLE 2024 – Reuse on the move”

On 14th April 2024, Eco Research took part in “ReCYCLE – Reuse on the move“, organised by the Municipality of Bolzano, from 10.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Bolzano’s Piazza Tribunale. The square became the stage for various moments dedicated to proposals, initiatives and opportunities related to the theme of the event, i.e. re-use and a more careful and conscious use of everything that surrounds us. For the occasion, the city centre of Bolzano was closed to traffic, with a ban on all motor vehicles. The 40th edition of VIVICITTA’, the famous city run promoted by the UISP, which takes place simultaneously in dozens of Italian cities, also started from the Piazza Tribunale…

Participation in the event “Fine & clean” on 05/04/2024 at Waltherplatz in Bolzano

On 5 April 2024, Eco Research took part in the participatory clean-up day “Limpido & Pulito” organised by BZheartbeat,from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Piazza Walther in Bolzano. The event saw the active participation of students from the “Dante Alighieri” primary school and the “Josef von Aufschnaiter” secondary school, as well as numerous other people who decided to mobilise to collect abandoned waste in the historic centre of Bolzano and along the Talvera meadows….

UPAD Conferences “Curious by Nature” in Vipiteno and Brunico

The fruitful collaboration with the UPAD Foundation in the field of science dissemination continues. This time, the Vipiteno and Brunico venues were involved, where two conferences held by Massimo Donegà were proposed, on 21/02/2024 in Vipiteno and on 13/03/2024 in Brunico, on the complex topic of plastics and related environmental problems…

On 14 February 2024, Eco Research met with the children of the “ARIANNA CARNEVALE” project, an activity for children aged 6 to 11 years organised by the UPAD Bolzano Foundation in the week of Carnival 2024.

In particular, researchers and collaborators from Eco Research proposed a workshop entitled “The invisible challenge: let’s clean the air”. The children present were able to learn how to identify the pollutants that can be found in the air we breathe inside buildings (also in our homes and classrooms), their effects on our health and the main sources of release of these pollutants, to see one of the scientific instruments used to measure the substances in the air around us in action, but also to learn about those daily actions and new habits that can make a big difference in improving air quality and preserving a healthy living environment…
